Director of Eduvation


Curtis is the Director of Education at Pixel Blue College and is able to assist students with their registration, financing, and coach them through the Rev’s ups and downs. With a positive attitude and personalized attention, Curtis ensures that students feel like they are part of the Pixel Blue College’ family and not a number like many of the larger institutions out there. Curtis graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and an MBA from Simon Fraser University.

 

Design & Motion Graphics Instructor


Julian is an experienced designer and has worked as an educator with Tec de Monterrey in Mexico City. He has taught at the University of Alberta and has obtained his Masters is Visual Arts. As a graduate of Pixel Blue College Design program, an active designer and painter, he brings a wealth of experience to the classroom.


3D Animation Instructor


Greg is instructor of the 3D Animation program. After completing his Visual Communications Design Diploma at Grant MacEwan College, Greg joined the Pixel Blue College family by attending the 3D Animation program. He has been involved in commercial work and public television ad campaigns by providing his expertise in 3D animation and special effects.


Digital Audio Production Instructor


Umesh’s professional audio engineering experience has given him the opportunity to work in some of the top recording studios in Canada, working on some of the biggest consoles.  His work in both Analog and Digital mediums has given him extensive experience that he is able to bring to the classroom everyday. Umesh has worked, and continues to work, in the music, television mixing and film industries.   For several years he has been using his experience to teach digital audio engineering courses in a classroom setting and will continue to do so at Pixel Blue College.

 

Digital Audio Production Instructor


Kevin works closely with our High Schools by attending career fairs, talking with students and making sure the faculty and the staff at these schools have the most up- to-date information about Pixel Blue College. Kevin is a graduate of Pixel Blue College in both 3D Animation & Modeling and Design & Motion Graphics diploma programs. His work outside of the college, as a freelance graphic designer, allows him to bring these real world skills to the classroom and to the students he meets each day.


Sessional Instructor


David Woods, President and Founder of Solidhouse, is an accomplished independent contractor and .NET developer specializing in enterprise applications and enterprise level projects aimed at meeting the unique needs and business requirements of a broad spectrum of clients. He is an advocate of good OO skills and patterns, and is particularly passionate about security solutions and best practices. Dave holds the designation of Microsoft Security MVP, one of only three professionals in Canada to hold this distinction. He has been developing and programming applications since he was a kid, working his way from BASIC (and still has his Apple II to prove it) to .NET.
 
In addition to his corporate projects, Dave enjoys sharing his knowledge and understanding of some of the Industry’s most innovative and forward-thinking arenas with other professionals and up-and-coming developers. He is an active speaker at a variety of user groups, code camps and conferences throughout Canada and the United States, and via his informative blog; www.haveyougotwoods.com.

Sessional Instructor

 

Grant has been involved in the graphic design and production field for nearly 20 years. His experience covers textile printing, large format printing, prepress, sign-making, advertising, marketing, brand identity and post production art. After 3 years in education, Grant moved into advertising, serving as the
design director at Calder Bateman, amassing over 40 awards in studio art and design. As an educator, he has developed and taught nearly 20 curriculums that span typography design to semiotics and wayfinding systems.

As an internationally published identity designer, Grant spends his time building the profile of his new creative boutique.
