Dylan Roffey was the grand prize on-line Pixel Blue College competition winner for his submission of his 3D digital car. He was the recipient of a $2000.00 Pixel Blue College scholarship and $50.00 iTunes gift card
Dylan, a grade 11 student, has taken a number of Design & Communications courses over the last two years. This year he completed the 3D Animation course in semester 1. He also completed his Digital Graphics 2 courses this term. As part of an in-class assignment, the students from Mrs. Bjarnason 3D Animation and Digital Graphics 2 classes were encouraged to enter the Pixel Blue College competition. Dylan completed a project in both the DESIGN & MOTION GRAPHICS and 3D ANIMATION & MODELING categories, but chose to enter his 3D digital car . He submitted it into a PowerPoint presentation to show all angles and details for the submission. For details of the competition see below.
Dylan has worked this year with the 3D programs; Maya, 3D Max, Rhino and SketchUp. He has excelled at everything he has tried. He hopes to continue with Wagner’s Web Design and Motion Media courses in the fall, before deciding on Post-secondary. In a surprise presentation in class on June 15, 2010 the staff of Pixel Blue College presented Dylan with his prizes.
